STALLIONS CHEER PROGRAM

**PLEASE NOTE** We understand many returning athletes have a lot of questions regarding the changes the ICA introduced via email. Please know we are diligently working to accommodate these changes and hope to share new information soon.

PROGRAMS
Our Cheerleading program is broken down by age and grade, Kindergarten thru 8th grade. The team composition changes from year to year, depending on enrollment figures. Teams for 2024 will depend on enrollment numbers at each grade.

ELIGIBILITY
All athletes, boys and girls ages 5 through 14 (grades KG thru 8th), are eligible to participate in the Cheer program with the exception of those who have graduated from eighth grade or turn age 15 prior to September 1 of the current year.

ICA SUMMER CAMP
We will once again be offering the opportunity for our 5th-8th grade teams to attend a summer camp being offered by the ICA.  More specific info on this camp will be included in Fall season registration.

CHEER UNIFORMS & OPTIONAL SPRING FUNDRAISING
New cheer uniforms will be introduced for our 2024 season. Our plan is to use this newly purchased uniform for two seasons (2024 and 2025). The cost of the uniform is $200. The cost will cover the full set which is a uniform top and skirt (for girls)/pants (for boys). The uniform amount is due when you register for the season. All athletes must attend one of the scheduled uniform fittings to be sized. Parents will need to accompany their child at uniform fittings to sign off on sizes.

PARENT INFORMATION MEETING
We hope to host one event for all cheer parents, time and date to be announced. This will be a chance to go over plans for the 2024 season and a chance to answer parent questions.

STALLIONS CHEER HANDBOOK - 2024 SEASON*
Please read through this (found on our web page) as you will be required to sign off that you have read it during the registration process. We will be following stricter guidelines with attendance policies for practices this year. *Please note that we are currently making revisions to our 2024 handbook and a new version will be posted soon.

CHEER MATS
The LCS is the proud owner of two full sets of regulation-size and quality cheer mats. All LCS cheer squads are scheduled to practice on these mats.

PRACTICE
Every team will practice twice during the week (either M/W or Tu/Th), and all teams will practice on Saturdays (once school starts).  Our 2024 tentative schedule will be posted here on our website soon.

PRACTICE LOCATIONS
Practices will be held at Fremont School facilities in Mundelein as well as some practices at Mundelein HS.

CHEER SHOES
Your athlete will be required to wear cheer shoes when she/he is participating in the sport of cheer.  For safety reasons, we cannot allow any other types of shoes to be worn.  Two pairs of shoes are required for the season, a pair that can be worn for practices and football games and a pair that will INDOOR ONLY shoes and be worn for competitions.  Any all-white clean cheer shoe is acceptable. More information about shoes and where to purchase will be posted on our website.

CHEER PANTS
For under cheer uniforms on inclement weather days. Plain black leggings, no zippers or lace. Leggings can be purchased at Target, Walmart, Old Navy or pretty much any clothing store.

FOOTBALL GAMES
Our cheer teams will be cheering at Lake County Stallions home football games. All home games will be played at Behm Homestead Park field in Fremont Township.  The football season will begin around the end of August extending through early November. We will share game schedules as soon as they are available. Cheering at football games is not optional and is a mandatory team commitment.  We use this time to support our football teams and strengthen the skills the athletes learn at practice.

COMPETITIONS
Cheer competitions begin in late August and are held in the Chicagoland area. Competitions are mandatory. For the 2024 season, we will be attending three competitions and potentially attending the ICA State Championship.

FALL FUNDRAISER
We will be doing a Fall fundraiser this year. You can choose whether you wish to participate in the fundraiser or if you prefer to “buy out” and not fundraise. To “buy out” you will need to pay $100 at the time of registration. You will mark your preference on your registration form.

The LCS Cheer program has been a successful program for many years. Many of our older girls and boys go on to cheer at our local high schools and we are proud to say that many of the 2022/2023 cheerleaders are at Mundelein High School, Carmel Catholic High School, Stevenson High School, Vernon Hills High School and even Grayslake High School, came thru the LCS program. In addition, you can also find our former cheerleaders cheering at the following colleges: University of WI @ Madison, University of WI @ Green Bay, College of Lake County, Eastern IL University, IL State University, Northern IL University, University of IL, Illinois State University, MIZZOU, Purdue University, and Elon University.  The LCS Cheer program is a great place to cheer and grow as a cheerleader, and we have fun while we learn and perform.

Please feel free to email with any questions or comments.
