ABOUT

Founded in 2009, Stallions Lacrosse is a Youth Lacrosse Organization dedicated to teaching boys and girls the sport of Lacrosse to children at both an educational and competitive level.  The boys program plays in the IBLAX league.  The girls program plays in the Illinois Lacrosse League.

Based in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, athletes who play on Stallions Lacrosse come from many different cities including Mundelein, Libertyville, Wauconda, Gurnee, Round Lake, and Grayslake.

Lacrosse Equipment

Players will need to provide their own equipment, as follows:

  • Stick-  Stick required
    • Sticks can be found at Dicks or on Facebook Marketplace. Be sure to check/verify the stick is for the correct gender. All players should get the standard 3ft stick as use of longer poles are only allowed at the U14 level and if players shows enough skill for coach to allow its use.
  • Mouth Guard- required for games and practice
    • Buy a few. Kids will lose them. Always nice to have some on standby!
  • Cleats- not required but good to have, especially for practice/games on wet grass or games on turf.
    • Cleats do not need to be lacrosse 'specific'.  Soccer, Football, or Baseball cleats work well.
  • Cradle Baby or Swax Lax- not required
  • Helmet and equipment
    • Helmet
    • Elbow pads
    • Gloves
    • Chest/shoulder pads
    • Athletic cup (males only)
    • Stick - All players should get the standard 3ft stick as use of longer poles are only allowed at the U14 level and if players shows enough skill for coach to allow its use.
    • **You can buy most of this as a bundle from sporting goods stores such as Dicks, along with being able to save money by doing some shopping at Play It Again Sports or even Facebook Marketplace for used.

Volunteer Requirement

Each family is expected to help throughout the season with coaching, field set up, concessions, team parent, etc.

*Coaches are a key part of the program and we need your help. Even if you don't know anything about lacrosse, we’ll get you up to speed by working with other seasoned coaches/parents.
